Multiply Productivity with Critical Focus Techniques

Multiply Productivity with Critical Focus Techniques

Productivity is not something you accidentally stumble upon. It’s a result of planning and focus that allows you to look back at the end of the day and feel good about what you have accomplished.

Raw talent is fabulous, but it’s not enough. Brian, a highly-intelligent and talented entrepreneur, discovered quickly that his brilliance wouldn’t carry him through if he wasn’t organized and productive. Just like everyone, Brian’s world is filled with a constant barrage of interruptions and disturbances that keep him from moving forward in our work.

In order to be effective, Brian realised he needed to harness his talents and hone our skills into focused efforts that help him become the most productive leader possible.

Consider these critical aspects of maintaining focus and productivity:

Focus-1

Manage Your Time

More than just managing the clock, time management is actually about managing yourself! Of course, entire books have been written on this topic so we’ll have to sum up. The basics of managing time that leads to success are:

Work From a To-Do List:

If you don’t know what needs to get done, you’ll never be able to do it.

Prioritize Tasks:

Identify the three most important things you MUST get done today. Then fill in the rest afterwards.

Set Goals:

Large projects should be broken down into realistic goals that you can accomplish within a specified period of time.

Create a Distraction-Free Environment:

Work in a space that allows you to be free from interruptions. Work in a quiet, soothing space, away from chaos or noise. Snooze your phone or computer pop-up notifications.

Work in Time Blocks:

You may have heard of the Pomodoro Method, which consists of breaking up work into bite-sized chunks and then taking scheduled breaks in between.

Stop Multi-Tasking:

When you try to do everything at once, you’re likely to not get anything done at all. Do one thing at a time, do it well, and then move on.

Choose Tasks Wisely:

You are human and can’t do everything. Learn to say no to things that do not reflect your values or lead toward your goals.

Take a Break!:

Your brain needs to rest from its work so schedule in timed breaks. Don’t give into the temptation to spend your whole break on your phone. Instead, incorporate a short walk or a bit of exercise into your break!  You’ll get your blood flowing, enjoy a change of pace, and your brain will function better when it’s time to get back to work.

Employ Digital Tools

Today’s digital world has brought a host of distractions that can keep us from getting things done. The flip side is that technology has also brought us a myriad of tools that can help with attention, focus and being productive!

Productivity Apps on your phone, tablet and/or computer can help you direct your thoughts and activities.

Practice Mindfulness

It might seem unrealistic, but a few minutes of mindfulness, meditation or breathing exercises can provide hours worth of focused attention! Start your day with a few deep breaths or meditation exercises. If you find yourself stressed out in the day, insert in a few moments of mindfulness to recapture your focus and move forward with your day. Some of them can be done in just one-minute

If you start here, I guarantee you that things will change - for the better!
But of course, there are a multitude of factors that go into a successful business. Pieces and Parts that work together.

Start today. Focus on what is important.
